Hooky
It was one of those days I couldn’t resist. The kids hadn’t seen Little Thing in a nearly two months, I missed my friend.
As I took Thing 1 back to school after the doctor’s appointment, I instead told the admin at school to send my daughter to the office. “Will Thing 2 from Mrs. G’s class please report to the office with her belongings?” I thought my Thing would be so freaked out, but instead she was dancing out of her class with her schoolmates yelling after her to have a good time “Playing Hooky!!!” Danm, I got nabbed.
So Hooky we played. We rode every ride, played every game and ran around like children should have the privilege to do. And it felt good. It felt so good to be a mom that let’s her kids play hooky every once in a long while to remind them and me what it’s like to be free and young.
